Néville: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Néville combines distinctive examples of religious architecture with traces of its medieval and early modern history. Particularly rich in detail is the Église Saint-Martin: it houses 30 statues and numerous religious ornaments. Its gallery dates from 1580 and has been listed as a historic monument since 1908. The organ also has historical significance. It was built in 1625 and is one of the oldest organs in the département.

Culture

Further details of the Église Saint-Martin date back even further. The transept dates from the 13th century; with the exception of this transept, the church was completely rebuilt in sandstone in the 16th century. Néville is classified under the theme of religious buildings.

The local history also includes several independent monuments. The Croix la Rose was erected in 1624. It preserves a 17th-century signpost that showed travellers the direction to Dieppe and Le Havre. The Croix Hellouin is a memorial monument at the site where Roger de Bréauté, the lord of Néville, and his soldiers fell victim to English troops in 1421.

History

The Chastel de Néville is documented as early as 1471. The substantial Colombier de Néville is also part of the town's historical heritage; its size is considered an indication of the former fief's seigneurial importance.

Néville is located near the Parc naturel régional des Boucles de la Seine normande. The Circuit N°5 – Autour de Saint-Valery-en-Caux circular trail also passes through the town.
