Barentin’s “Musée dans la rue” is an open-air museum with more than 160 sculptures displayed in gardens, squares, at crossroads and around public buildings.

Culture

The Théâtre Montdory is a venue with 400 seats and offers theatre, dance, concerts, comedy, circus performances, artist residencies and film screenings for children and adults from September to June.

The permanent Salle d'exposition Camille Claudel displays 57 works, including busts, statues and paintings. The permanent exhibition also includes Auguste Rodin’s “L'homme qui marche”.

The Musée Numérique in Barentin presents art history through two digital facilities. MUSE Découverte offers a trail with 18 stations that combines reproductions of artworks and playful educational tools relating to important works from prehistory to the present day. The Micro-Folie provides access to more than 2,000 masterpieces via a large screen and synchronised tablets.

At the Giratoire du Plateau du Mesnil-Roux stands a replica made of polyester for Gérard Oury’s 1969 film “Le Cerveau”.

The Chapelle Saint-Hélier preserves a chancel screen from the late 12th or early 13th century; the chapel was rebuilt in the 16th century. It was formerly a pilgrimage site with a ritual fire on 16 July.

The Viaduc de Chemin de Fer in Barentin was built in 1846 by the English engineer Locke for the Rouen–Le Havre railway line.

Nature

Parc Auguste Badin is a 17-hectare landscaped park on the site of the former Badin industrial wasteland. More than 75 % of the park is dedicated to natural areas, including meadows, wetlands, trees, landscaped paths and ecological corridors.

The historical exhibition in Parc Auguste Badin covers cotton spinning, linen and jute production, the Badin family and the site’s workers.

Leisure

The aquatic area of Les Bains de l’Austreberthe has four pools and a water slide. The leisure pool also includes a gently flowing current channel and a bubble bench.

“Plateau de Caux et Vallées” is a 26-kilometre circular hike starting in Barentin.
