The Church of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption features a rare Renaissance rood screen made of white stone.

Water and Landscape

The Varenne, Béthune and Eaulne rivers meet in Arques-la-Bataille to form the 7-kilometre-long Arques. Via the port of Dieppe, it flows into the English Channel.

The fishing ponds scattered throughout the valley floor of Arques-la-Bataille are popular places for walks.

The Forêt d'Arques covers almost 1,000 hectares. It is a high forest of beech and oak trees with some conifers.

Paths and Nature

A path from the village car park leads gently uphill to the ruins of Château d’Arques.

The Avenue Verte was extended as far as Arques-la-Bataille in 2008 and follows the route of a former railway line.

The Avenue Verte between Dieppe and Forges-les-Eaux is freely accessible to pedestrians, inline skaters, cyclists, horse riders and people with reduced mobility.
