Angerville-La-Martel: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Angerville-la-Martel is a rural municipality on a plateau, about ten minutes from the sea. The village is characterised by half-timbered houses, typical examples of the local architecture, as well as a manor house made of stone, flint and sandstone.

Villagescape and history

The spire of the Église Saint-Martin was rebuilt in 1772 after being destroyed by lightning. The stained-glass window “Calvaire, Vierge à l’Enfant” is located in window bay 6 of the southern aisle of the Église Saint-Martin.

The historic buildings include the imposing, coat-of-arms-adorned gate of the Château d’Angerville, dating from the 18th century. In the hamlet of Ypreville, the Tour Lanterne was erected in 1936 as a memorial to the former leper colony of Epreville.

The Foire Saint-Mathieu still takes place every year on the weekend of the fourth Monday in September.

Landscape and surroundings

The Colleville ponds are located nearby, in the Valmont valley, which is designated as an Espace Naturel Sensible.

Hiking

The 17 km hiking trail La Tour Lanterne starts at the Église d’Angerville-la-Martel and takes around 4 hours and 30 minutes. The circular route passes through the Angerville plain and then climbs into the Valmont valley.
