Culture
The oldest part of the parish church of Saint-Denis is a 12th-century nave with Romanesque windows and opus spicatum masonry. In the 16th century, the church was extended by a choir with a straight eastern end and a narthex on the west side, topped by a tower roof. In 2004, it was added to the supplementary inventory of France's historic monuments.
Saint-Denis Castle was rebuilt in the 17th century for the L'Hermite family. It has a classical U-shaped layout with two round towers and, together with its farm buildings, farm, parish church and presbytery, forms a remarkable architectural and landscape ensemble.
Blavou Castle was probably built or rebuilt by the Loisel family in the 15th or 16th century. Around 1871, it was largely rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style. The estate preserves significant historic architectural features, including a ground floor with a groin vault and a monumental fireplace.
History
The Ponts d'Huisne are two single-arch bridges built between 1783 and 1785 on the eastern edge of the municipality.
The former Saint-Denis-sur-Huisne railway station was probably built shortly before 1881, in the late 19th century, on the railway line from Mortagne-au-Perche to Mamers via Bellême. The line was dismantled in 1955, after which the station was sold.
Hiking
The Tour des Collines du Perche (TCP) passes through Saint-Denis-sur-Huisne. The route is difficult, designed as an eight-day circular route, and is 222.1 kilometres long. The TCP can be hiked in individual stages starting from railway stations or car parks in the stage villages.
