Culture

The Église Saint-Pair was built in the 19th century to replace an 11th-century Romanesque church. The south portal of the Église Saint-Pair is the only surviving element of the Romanesque church, which was replaced in 1858. The Romanesque portal dates from the second half of the 12th century and is made of granite, the local rock of the Vire-Carolles granite massif.

The church in Sartilly contains reinstalled baptismal fonts. Sartilly is also home to a monument to the four corporals of Souain, who were executed by firing squad as an example on 17 March 1915. Blanche fought for 19 years to have her husband and his three comrades rehabilitated; this was achieved on 3 March 1934. Next to it is the grave of Blanche, the widow of Corporal Maupas.
