Culture
The Église Saint-Martin dates from the 11th century and was extensively rebuilt. The church and the cemetery surrounding it were protected as a monument historique by decree of 30 July 1947.
Today, only the remains of a quadrangular fortification survive from Château de Charuel. The only other surviving part of the former castle is the guardhouse, which became the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Pitié. Some archaeologists suspect that the former guardhouse at the main gate was used for this purpose. The tower-like shape, thick walls and roof opening are associated with the monitoring of the castle entrance by a guard.
Nature
The Étang du Pont au Roy is a fishing pond of approximately 1 hectare in the first fishery category. The landscaped and well-maintained pond is suitable both for trout fishing in the fishing pond and for coarse fishing.
The Marais de Boucey et d'Aucey are very open bocage pasture landscapes and seasonal wetlands. They serve as temporary retention basins and natural filters, are flooded in winter and provide a habitat for a diverse birdlife, including ducks, waders and birds of prey.
