Bricquebec: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The Château de Bricquebec has an eleven-sided keep that was completely rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries. The complex also retains a stone curtain wall flanked by several towers.
Culture
The Musée du vieux château has been designated a “Musée de France” under the French Heritage Code since 17 September 2003. It presents the history of Bricquebec through stone fragments from excavations carried out in the crypt in 1953.
At the Atelier des créateurs, Mme CHOUTEAU works as a potter and ceramicist, while M. CADO draws glass threads in front of visitors. Since 2019, during the summer season, the town has invited an artist to exhibit their works in the room on the first floor of the Tour de l’Horloge. The exhibitions are free to access and can be accompanied by a guide. From mid-spring to autumn, the Salle du Chartier offers a varied artistic programme open to everyone.
Bricquebec-en-Cotentin’s digital heritage tour is also part of the public cultural offerings: it is free for everyone and accessible at any time.
Nature
The bocage landscapes typical of Bricquebec include sunken lanes, hedgerows and meadows planted with apple trees. The Plan d’Eau de Cattigny is a body of water covering more than one hectare, intended for walks and relaxation, and sheltered from the road. The water is regularly stocked with fish; fishing is regulated and managed by the la Truite de la Scye association.
Public offerings
The traditional Sainte-Anne festival in Bricquebec takes place every summer on the last weekend of July. At the Marché de Bricquebec-en-Cotentin, visitors can meet local producers every Monday morning.
Visit
The Abbaye Notre-Dame de Grâce cannot be visited. In a specially arranged room, an illustrated presentation about the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Grâce is held daily at 3:30 p.m.
