Culture
The Église Saint-Pierre houses a statue of the Apostle Peter, which has been protected as a listed cultural object since 28 June 1985.
The church also contains the reused tombstones of André Le Jemble, who died in 1746, and Mathieu Duval, who died in 1635. They have been included in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.
At the centre of the main altar in the Église Saint-Pierre is a statue of Christ on the Cross. The Chapelle de La Foucheraie is a pilgrimage site.
The Château de la Herpinière is privately owned and cannot be visited.
The Manoir de La Herpinière dates from the late 16th century and has four échauguettes, historic defensive or watch turrets.
History
In 1858, the water wheel of the Moulin du Trémusset, also known as the Trémucet, powered four grinding cylinders and a continuously operating paper machine. Later, a power station was established at the site of the Moulin du Trémusset, supplying electricity to Sourdeval, Brouains and Juvigny-le-Tertre.
