Saint-Pierre-De-Cormeilles: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Guillaume Fitz Osbern founded the Benedictine Abbey of Notre-Dame around 1055 on the site of the present-day municipality of Saint-Pierre-de-Cormeilles. The abbot’s house, the surrounding walls and a dovecote have survived from the abbey; the dovecote is privately owned.
Culture and history
The parish church of Saint-Pierre was built in the 13th century. The nave and choir feature wooden ceiling paneling dating from the 16th century. Further stained-glass windows in the choir were created by the glass artist François Decorchemont in the mid-20th century. They depict the history of Saint-Pierre-de-Cormeilles since the founding of the abbey.
An old Roman road also crosses Saint-Pierre-de-Cormeilles. It connected Lisieux in Département 14 with Lillebonne in Département 76.

The Chemin du Pommeau leads from Saint-Pierre-de-Cormeilles through the Calonne Valley to Cormeilles. The route offers sunken lanes in the bocage, views over the valley, as well as pastures and orchards.
The Chemin du Frédet runs through the bocage landscape of the Pays d’Auge, with sunken lanes, meadows lined with apple trees and hedgerows.
La Fontaine Frédet is one of the best-preserved and enhanced covered washhouses in the Cormeilles area. An uncontrolled spring emerges there and forms a stream that flows towards the centre of Saint-Pierre-de-Cormeilles.
