In Bouquelon, paths lead through a marshland. The Chemin des Courtils runs through elongated, narrow courtil plots that extend from the road to the heart of the marshland. Ponds, ditches, thatched-roof houses and pollarded willows line the path. The yellow-marked hiking trail is 10.2 km long, has an elevation gain of 114 metres and includes 36 percent unpaved paths; it starts at the church in Bouquelon. Numerous viewpoints offer beautiful views over the marshland. A medieval stone house and a half-timbered manor house from the 17th century are also visible from the path.

Landscape

The Chemin de la plaine du Château leads through plain, woodland and bocage. Sections are lined with hornbeams cut as pollard trees. From the picnic tables next to the town hall, the path offers a viewpoint over the Marais Vernier.

Culture and History

The Domaine du château du Plessis is partly listed as a historic monument and partly classified as a historic monument. The listing dates from 28 July 2005, and the classification from 31 January 2011.

The Église Saint Ouen in Bouquelon has a nave from the late 11th century with a simple portal and two rows of voussoirs. The choir and tower date from the 12th century; there is also a piscina with a double arcade from the late 13th century.
