Lasson: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Château de Lasson was classified as a historic monument by decree of 17 July 1917, with the exception of the outbuilding located in the south-western square pavilion. The façades and roofs of the outbuilding were listed by decree of 7 April 1975.

Culture

The main construction phase of the Église Saint-Pierre is dated to the 14th century. The first nave may date from the end of the pre-Romanesque period or the 11th century. The bell tower of the Église Saint-Pierre was entered in the register of historic monuments by decree of 16 May 1927.

The church contains a polychrome limestone statue of Saint Peter in Lasson. It dates from the 15th century and was classified as a historic monument by ministerial decree of 15 December 2000. After restoration was completed, it was placed in the bell tower of the Église Saint-Pierre behind protective grilles.

History

Lasson was one of the villages of the new municipality of Rots that were at the centre of the battle in June 1944. Troops from the Régiment de la Chaudière remained stationed in Lasson for almost a month. Lasson was officially liberated on 7 June.

Trails and Events

The CHEMINS DE LA MUE hiking trail begins in Lasson. The Du Chiromme à la Mue hiking trail passes through villages with remarkable architecture as well as rural areas along the Chiromme and the Mue, and is associated with the municipality of Lasson.

Les Foulées de la Mue are road races organised by the Association La MUSE (MUe, Sport et Environnement). They are included in the official calendar of the Fédération Française d’Athlétisme, are open to everyone interested, and start at the Centre d’animation de Lasson–Rosel.
