Glanville: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

One of Glanville’s landmarks is Villa Sayer. It was built between 1973 and 1975 for industrialist Louis Sayer by Marcel Breuer in collaboration with the Italian architect Mario Jossa. Villa Sayer is the only residential building erected by Marcel Breuer in France. Including the swimming pool and the entire property, cadastral parcel B 120, it was classified as a protected monument by decree of 13 May 2005.

Culture

The choir of the Notre-Dame de la Nativité church contains a high altar dating from the 17th century. The Calvary of Glanville stands at the intersection of Chemin du Calvaire and Route de Deauville; La Charité contributed to its restoration in 1984.

The Lavoir de Glanville washhouse on Route de Deauville has been almost completely preserved from the time of its construction and is a “hall” type washhouse. It is fed by the Rû Saint Clair Saulnier, whose water is partially diverted. During a stay, the lavoir invites visitors to stop there on foot, by bicycle or by car. The second washhouse on Chemin de la Fontaine des Monts was supplied by the municipality’s numerous springs.

Paths and Landscapes

The hiking trails in Glanville pass through douets, or small streams, and valleys. The “De sources en fontaines” hiking trail can begin in Glanville or Bourgeauville and has been certified by Terre d’Auge and the département. The Saint-Méen spring is known locally for curing skin ailments.

The cycling route of the international Deauville–Pays d’Auge triathlon also passes through the territory of Glanville.

Events

The annual municipal programme includes a walk on Thursdays in July and August, organised by the Terre d’Auge Tourist Office. In September, it includes a rural meal with music organised by the ASP de Glanville. In August, the programme also includes a painting exhibition in the church organised by the ASP de Glanville.

A guided tour of Haras de la Huderie in Glanville was scheduled for Saturday, 17 October 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; registration was required and places were limited.
