Dives-Sur-Mer: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Village d’Art Guillaume-le-Conquérant is open to the public free of charge. Visitors can meet artists, restorers, antique dealers and artisans there.

Culture and History

Among the town’s defining buildings are the Halles de Dives-sur-Mer. They were built between 1405 and 1423, are now 50 × 12 metres in size and have a roof structure supported by 66 oak pillars. Every Saturday morning, the Halles continue the market tradition.

The walls of the Église Notre-Dame de Dives-sur-Mer bear 400 pieces of graffiti dating from the 15th to the 20th century. Their history is linked to the legend of the Christ Saint Sauveur and the establishment of a pilgrimage site in Dives-sur-Mer. A plaque listing the companions of William the Conqueror was installed at the church in 1862.

The Manoir de Bois-Hibout is a manor house built in the 17th century and is also known as the “Lieutenance”.

Art and Events

The Maison Bleue de Da Costa features a mosaic-decorated garden with motifs such as birds, snakes and deer. It documents 27 years of Art Brut creation and has been listed as a historic monument since 1991.

Le Sablier has been a Centre national de la marionnette (CNMa) since 5 October 2022, is supported, among others, by the town of Dives-sur-Mer and supports projects at the Beffroi de Dives-sur-Mer. RéciDives is held every year in Dives-sur-Mer.

Harbour and Maritime Activities

Port Guillaume offers walks along the banks of the Dives and trips out to sea. The École de voile intercommunale offers activities in Dives-sur-Mer such as catamaran sailing, dinghy and Optimist sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, sea kayaking and sailing.

CAPAC offers trips out to sea lasting around two hours, focusing on traditional navigation. CAPAC also organises tours of the fishing and pleasure-boat harbours in Dives-sur-Mer, presents local fishing techniques using documents and models, and provides an introduction to traditional knot-tying.
