Culture and History

Anguerny is home to the Église Saint-Martin. It consists of a Romanesque nave and a Gothic choir and dates from the 11th to the 14th century. Its bell tower is one of the oldest in the Calvados département.

The stele of the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada commemorates a Canadian regiment of the 3rd Infantry Division that was involved in the liberation of Anguerny. The Inukshuk is a stone structure erected as a tribute to Canadian soldiers.

The Château de Fontaine-Henry and the Château de la Londe, both castles, are located in the immediate vicinity of Anguerny. The Château de Lasson and the Château de Lion-sur-Mer are also located in the surrounding area; these two buildings are castles as well.
