Fresnes-Lès-Montauban: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Fresnes-lès-Montauban formerly consisted of three independent villages: Fresnes, Montauban and Mauville. In 1098, Dom Alold, the abbot of Saint-Vaast, was responsible for the church of Fresnes. Celtic flint axes and a Gallic coin were found near Mauville. Remains of Gallo-Roman graves and remains dating from the 3rd century were also found near Mauville.

History

The war memorial was renovated in 2015 and is illuminated at night. Its central bas-relief depicts a mourning woman; in the background, a village is represented by its church. The local church history also includes the bell named Marguerite Georgette Marie Caroline, which was baptised in 1928.

Culture

The church of Fresnes-lès-Montauban was built by Charles Demory and his sister Félicité Demory between 1876 and 1877. It has three bell towers: a main tower for Fresnes and two additional ones for Meauville and Montauban.
