In Deûlémont, the “Deûlémont au fil de l’eau” circular trail runs along the banks of the Deûle and the Lys. From the viewpoint at the confluence of the Deûle and the Lys, the view extends as far as the Monts de Flandres. The banks of the Deûle and the Lys offer opportunities for family outings on foot, by bicycle and on horseback.
The fishing pond on the “Du chemin de halage aux chemins de campagne” circular trail is an example of the conversion of an industrial site to a new use. From the belvedere at the confluence of the Deûle and the Lys, the towpath follows the Lys towards Armentières to the Prés du Hem, or downstream towards Comines and Comines Belgique. Deûlémont’s natural wastewater treatment plant can be viewed from the Chemin du Petit Bonheur or from the banks of the Deûle. The confluence of the Deûle and the Lys at Deûlémont is a rare photo spot.
Water
The port of Deûlémont is licensed for 35 berths and allows most pleasure boats to be launched easily. In the port of Deûlémont, boats can moor for one night or remain there year-round. On Sundays from June to September, the Deûlémont marina offers boat trips in cooperation with the Association Nautique.
Cyclists can start in Deûlémont and follow the Lys between Frelinghien and Halluin.
Culture
The large organ of the Church of Saint-Symphorien dates from 1924. The Peniche Jasi II, located on the banks of the Lys, is now home to the local history association DHA (Deûlémont d’hier et aujourd’hui). The Fête des allumoirs festival in Deûlémont dates back more than 150 years.
During processions in Deûlémont, the routes passed through numerous streets in the village and ended after stopping at each chapel, including the Chapelle Cuvelier.
