Culture and History
The Musée Dom Robert celebrates the weaving art of Aubusson and displays the restored Goubely workshop. The Musée du Verre is located in Sorèze’s former municipal hospice, which was built under Charles X; it is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility.
The Sorèze visitor trail uses 27 information panels to present remarkable buildings, local expertise and the history of ideas. In summer, the Sorèze tourist office offers guided tours with commentary along the heritage trail. The Saint-Martin bell tower is another historical trace: it is the only surviving part of Sorèze’s former parish church from the 15th century. The Oppidum de Berniquaut was inhabited from prehistoric times until the 13th century.
Landscapes and Trails
The area around Sorèze in the Montagne Noire includes protected beech, oak and coniferous forests, lakes, foothills, as well as numerous landscapes and trails to explore for hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders.
The Plateau du Causse features educational panels, an orientation board and a picnic table. From there, the Roc de la Fendeille viewpoint overlooks the plain from more than 300 metres above it. In Saint-Jammes stands a beech tree approximately 450 years old and 20 metres high.
The Saint-Jammes site can be reached via the RD 45, which connects Sorèze with Arfons. The Véloccitanie cycle route also crosses Sorèze along a section of the municipal greenway.
