Nature

The Forêt départementale de Sérénac covers around 210 hectares of coniferous and deciduous woodland. Coniferous and deciduous trees are widespread there, including oaks, red oaks, lime trees and hornbeams; several species of fungi can also be found.

Five woodpecker species can be found in this forest: European green woodpecker, great spotted woodpecker, lesser spotted woodpecker, middle spotted woodpecker and black woodpecker.

Trails

The Sentier de découverte de la forêt de Sérénac is a very easy circular route. Between points 3 and 4, it includes a 1.5-kilometre section adapted for people with reduced mobility.

The Sentier de la Méridienne is a moderately difficult, 11-kilometre hiking route. It leads from the Plateau de Sérénac into the Tarn Valley and forms a loop around the Méridienne verte.

Orienteering

Explorateurs du Tarn in the Forêt départementale de Sérénac is an outdoor treasure hunt combining physical activity and thought. Explorateurs du Tarn offers three orienteering courses there: an easy children's course on the topic of biodiversity, an easy adults' course on the topic of biodiversity and an easy adults' course on the topic of forest management.

These orienteering courses are located in an Espace Naturel Sensible that is open to the public.
