Trails

The Terre d’Ombres et de Lumières route is moderately difficult, 14 km long and listed as taking approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes; it is associated with the Domaine de la Verrerie and highlights the transformation from glassmaking to coal mining in the mining landscape of the Carmausin. It passes the Croix du Marquis, where a stele inaugurated in 2009 commemorates the miners’ strike of 13 July 1944. The route also reaches the Parc des Titans and passes the large Bucyrus mining machine. One route in Blaye-les-Mines follows the GR®36 towards Cap’Découverte. Cap’Découverte is freely accessible year-round and offers hiking, mountain biking, trail running, skateboarding, fitness trails and orienteering across a 700-hectare green area; the Parc des Titans is also located within this green area.

Nature

The Endrevié site was formerly a swimming pool belonging to the Houillères de Carmaux. Today, it has been converted into a recreational lake; Lake Endrevié can be walked around.
