Culture
The stone cross dating from the 15th century was classified as a historic monument by decree of 2 August 1893. The Église Saint-Michel, including its holy-water font, was listed as a historic monument by decree of 7 December 1970.
The main construction phase of the Église Saint-Michel dates from the 12th century. It also has a Romanesque porch, which may have served as a gateway. At the beginning of the 16th century, two side chapels were added to the Église de Campes on either side of the nave. Its upper, octagonal storey was also added at the beginning of the 16th century. Its portal features three pointed-arch archivolts profiled with a chamfer. By decree of 16 October 1930, the Église de Campes was listed as a historic monument. The restoration years 1728 and 1859 are recorded on the gable of the Église Saint-Martial de Cérat.
Landscape
The Liversenq dry slope is part of the landscape. It covers 115 hectares and is classified as a ZNIEFF. The Liversenq dry slope features calcareous grassland, rock outcrops and orchids, as well as remarkable birdlife.
Things to Do
The Chemin du Grain de sel is a circular trail in Saint-Marcel-Campes. The hiking route is approximately 10.8 kilometres long and takes about three hours to walk. It starts and ends at the town hall car park, known as “Pointe à Pitre”. Next to a wooden hut, there is a water point for refilling bottles and cleaning.
