Nature

Esmes, a hamlet of Montesquieu, is situated on elevated ground above the Barguelonne. The Church of Saint-Martin in Esmes has stained-glass windows signed and dated 1881 by Henri Feur of Bordeaux. The Château de Montesquieu stands on a feudal motte near the confluence of the two Barguelonne rivers.
