Féneyrols: Holiday apartments and houses

Féneyrols lies along the 85-kilometre Véloroute Vallée et Gorges de l'Aveyron, which connects Montauban with Laguépie and passes through the town between Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val and Lexos. A holiday apartment can be planned for your own stay in Féneyrols.

Nature

A very small part of Féneyrols is covered by a designated Natura 2000 site. The guided nature excursions offered by L'Hoplie Bleue also include walks focused on the natural heritage near Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the Tarn-et-Garonne department. The themed excursions cover geology, fauna, flora, photography and astronomy; the nature excursions last approximately two to six hours.

Things to do

The PR1 Féneyrols: Boucle de Féneyrols is a very easy, yellow-marked circular hiking trail covering 6.7 kilometres, with a walking time of approximately two hours. The yellow-marked trail follows the Aveyron towards the former thermal baths. Along the way, it passes a bivouac site located opposite the former thermal baths, with picnic tables, toilets and a shower.

For cyclists, the Circuit Cyclo n°10: Alimenterre follows an out-and-back route to Féneyrols, passing the château, the church and the metal bridge over the Aveyron.

Culture

The Château de Féneyrols was built to protect a ford. The façades and roofs of its western buildings have been listed as historic monuments by decree of 16 February 1951.

The Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Féneyrols originated from the Saint-Jean-des-Champs priory, which was dependent on the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Antonin. The priory was built around the 9th century on the ruins of Gallo-Roman thermal baths. During the annual Journées du patrimoine, visitors can view the nave, lined with four chapels, and its azure-blue ceiling.

The Chapelle Saint-Pierre aux Liens de Féneyrols was built in 1768 in the town centre by the de Rous family. The Église Saint-Julien de Carrendier is believed to date from the 9th century; its nave was enlarged. The Église Saint-Clair de Quergoalle is also believed to have been built in the 9th century. A beautiful view can be enjoyed at the foot of its bell tower.

By the Aveyron

The metal suspension bridge Pont suspendu de Féneyrols is of historical and architectural interest to visitors to Féneyrols. It connects the D115 with the village and lies on the tourist road through the Gorges de l'Aveyron.

On the right bank of the Aveyron, Féneyrols has preserved, among other things, the former thermal-bath buildings and around two hectares of parkland. Summer activities for visitors to Féneyrols include water sports on the Aveyron. There is also a traditional fishing activity in the town.
