Lamarque-Pontacq: Holiday apartments and houses

Lamarque-Pontacq lies between closely spaced hills surrounding the small Arrouarets plain, which is bordered by two streams to the east and west. When planning a trip to Lamarque-Pontacq, renting a holiday apartment is a priority for some travellers.

Hiking

The Association Sportive et Culturelle de Lamarque has its own hiking section. The Chemin de Barlest is an approximately 12-kilometre circular hiking trail within the municipality of Lamarque-Pontacq. The average walking time is around three hours. The trail crosses the Ousse stream over a bridge.

Culture

The Chapelle de Piétat is a small rural oratory at the edge of a stony path leading to the Luc forest. After being destroyed during the Wars of Religion, it was rebuilt from 1897 onwards. At the traditional annual celebration held at the Chapelle de Piétat, a communal aperitif and meal traditionally take place after the service. During the warmer months, families come to the Chapelle de Piétat for picnics. People, hikers and walkers use this peaceful spot for prayer or a rest; a table stands in the shade of a lime tree.

The Pierre de Maumus is a historic boundary stone recorded since 1432 as marking the boundary between the territories of Pontacq and “Lamarque près Béarn”. A statue of Saint Peter was erected in Lamarque church in 1923. The Château d’Estibayre and its chapel stand in a large park at Place d’Estibayre.
