Gembrie lies approximately in the centre of the Barousse Valley. The Church of Saint-Michel contains a wooden Pietà dating from the late 15th or early 16th century. The Pietà is listed in the inventory of historic monuments; the church was rebuilt in the 19th century.

Culture
Next to the trough on Gembrie’s village square, outside the church, stands an oratory dedicated to Sainte Bernadette. The village’s streets and buildings are also part of its local history: in Gembrie, two almost parallel departmental roads connect access to the village centre via a two-arch bridge and a cross street. The two-arch bridge via which Gembrie can be reached on the D125 dates from 1868.
Gembrie has three livestock watering troughs: one on the Chemin de Sarlongue, one on the Rue du Général de Gaulle and one in the village centre.
Landscape
The picturesque Barousse Valley is structured around the Ourse River, which meanders through Gembrie along its entire length from south to north.
History
A little farther away, on the D925 road towards Mauléon-Barousse, is the Mémorial de la Barousse. It is dedicated to the valley’s soldiers who fell in the First World War. The Mémorial de la Barousse offers visitors a route from the first kilometre marker, located on the D935, to the memorial site.
Gembrie is included in the list of municipalities in the Neste-Barousse village heritage programme. The programme includes guided tours and accompanied hikes.
