Trails and water
The 11-kilometre-long Sentier de la Baïse connects Condom and Valence-sur-Baïse on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. The route passes over the Graziac double lock and by Flaran Cistercian Abbey. In Valence-sur-Baïse, the Sentier can be started either at the port of Valence or at Flaran Abbey.
The Valence-sur-Baïse nautical landing stage serves the Baïse, the only navigable river in the Gers.

Valence-sur-Baïse offers two interpretation trails all year round: “Dans les Pas des premiers Valenciens” and “Le Parcours découverte de la bastide”. The bastide of Valence-sur-Baïse was founded in 1274 through a paréage agreement between Flaran Abbey and Count Géraud d’Armagnac.
The Abbaye de Flaran is considered a monastery in the vicinity of Valence-sur-Baïse. It was founded in 1151; its monastic buildings and gardens form a 12th-century Cistercian ensemble that was remodelled up to the 18th century. All year round, the Abbaye de Flaran offers cultural and educational activities, including temporary exhibitions, conferences, activities and fun workshops.
“Histoire du Costume: Monde et Merveilles” presents a costume collection ranging from Cro-Magnon to the present day. The church in Valence-sur-Baïse is open during the day; the bell tower can be accessed through a small side door.
