Malabat is situated on a range of hills and offers unobstructed views of the hills of the Gers and, in clear weather, of the Pyrenees. Those who choose Malabat as a travel destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.

Culture

Malabat Town Hall houses a chalice and a paten made of gilded, repoussé and chased silver. The gilded silver chalice is richly decorated on the cup and knop with faces in medallions; scenes from the life of Christ are depicted on the base. The chalice and paten date from the mid- and second half of the 19th century, respectively, and were listed as movable cultural heritage on 18 December 2007.

Landscape

The surroundings of Malabat include small roads lined with hedges, meadows, wooded areas and family farms. They are suitable for leisurely walks and stays in nature. The Village de Malabat can be visited individually and free of charge at any time. Malabat is accessed via the RD 38 departmental road.

Nature

The ZNIEFF “Cours de l'Arros” covers most of the Arros floodplain from Gourgue to its confluence with the Adour in the Gers and also includes the municipality of Malabat. Otters and European polecats are well represented along the entire course of the Arros.

The ZNIEFF “Coteaux de Capvern à Betplan” also includes the municipality of Malabat. It is classified as a protected site under the 1930 law. In the area managed by the AAPPMA, which includes Malabat, there is currently no designated fishing route on either a river or a lake. However, the Arros crosses the area and has good fish stocks.
