Nature and activities
The “Des coteaux à la vallée du Lot” hiking route is 12.03 kilometres long, takes three hours and has 494 metres of ascent. It runs at an altitude between 238 and 459 metres and is classified as moderately difficult. The starting point and destination are at Quai du Lot in Entraygues-sur-Truyère.
The GR de Pays “Lo Camin d’Olt” also starts in Entraygues. It comprises two circular trails through the Lot valley and the Truyère gorges, maintained by the ONF and CDRP and marked in yellow and red. They can be completed in five or six days with meals and accommodation.
For mountain bikes, there is the FFC “Entre Gorges Lot et Truyère” mountain biking area, with 170 kilometres of signposted routes. The trails are maintained by the ONF and the local “VCLT” club and are divided into eleven green, blue, red or black circular routes. The circular routes start in Golinhac, Entraygues, Couesques and Pons.
Culture and history
The “Découverte de la vieille ville d’Entraygues” tour starts at the tourist office and follows signposted points 1 to 21. Visitor guides are available in French, English, Spanish, German and Dutch.
A restored Gothic bridge from the 13th century crosses the Truyère. It is open to pedestrians and cyclists and is used by the V86, the cycle route along the Lot valley.
The Stoltz organ in Entraygues-sur-Truyère has hosted around one hundred concerts and film concerts since 2014. During these film concerts, a silent film is shown while an organist improvises.
In the surroundings of Entraygues-sur-Truyère, the Espace EDF Truyère is located in Couesques, in the former control room of the Couesques hydroelectric power station dating from 1950. The facility presents the industrial heritage of the Truyère and Lot rivers as well as the connection between water and energy. It can only be visited as part of a guided tour and by prior reservation.
Water
Depending on the water level, ASVOLT offers canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and rafting in Entraygues-sur-Truyère. Three river sections are available for hire: a 10-kilometre route from Entraygues to Le Port de Vieillevie for ages 8 and up, a 10-kilometre family route from Le Port de Vieillevie to Grand-Vabre for ages 5 and up, and a 20-kilometre sports route from Entraygues to Grand-Vabre for ages 8 and up.
Wine and surroundings
On the Entraygues–Le Fel wine route, guided tours of cellars and vineyards are offered to groups by appointment.
