Bournazel: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The Château de Bournazel was built between 1540 and 1560 by Jean II de Buisson and Charlotte de Mancip. It features Renaissance architecture inspired by Italian models, with extensive sculptural decoration, and houses a collection of paintings, furniture and works of art from the 16th and 17th centuries. The interior of the Château de Bournazel and the medieval tower are accessible exclusively as part of a guided tour; the garden and outdoor areas can also be visited independently. The Renaissance garden includes a walled garden with nine themed parterres, fountains, a water basin, a maze and an orchard.
Those considering Bournazel as a travel destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
Culture
The parish church of Saint-Sébastien was rebuilt between 1740 and 1749 on the site of an older church. During accompanied group tours of Bournazel, the Chapelle Notre Dame du Fraysse is presented as part of the village's history; the tours take place year-round by arrangement for groups of 20 to 40 people. Along the Chemin de Mandrin, narrow streets are lined with half-timbered houses featuring projecting upper floors and even Gothic openings.
Trails
La Boriette comprises 38 kilometres of restored and marked paths with six circular routes, all starting at Bournazel's village hall.
In the village
The Ferme découverte de la Borde offers visits during which guests can discover and feed the farm animals. It also offers visits to the village of Bournazel on foot or accompanied by the farm's donkeys.
