Baudricourt: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Baudricourt preserves a townscape in which rural heritage and older architecture stand closely side by side. Three dated farmhouses date from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries; they are dated 1687, 1729 and 1864. Architectural elements dating from before the 17th century have also been preserved in the village, including casement windows and a corner window with a trefoil lintel.

Townscape and history

The centre of Baudricourt forms the oldest settlement core. The farms along the road to Mirecourt are younger and have undergone more extensive alterations. The rural heritage includes farmhouses and workers' houses. A first washhouse was built in 1826 next to an existing public fountain.

Baudricourt was the seat of a barony that was elevated to a marquisate in 1719. The village is also regarded as the home of Victor Hugo's ancestors.

Nature

The ZNIEFF “Vergers de Mirecourt” also includes the municipality of Baudricourt. This area is classified as a type 2 continental ZNIEFF. The “Vergers de Mirecourt” covers 9,924.81 hectares and contains 58 determining species.

At the upper edge of the village there is a farm with cattle and large grass-covered pastures. On the other side of the road, sheep are kept in orchards.

Walks and views

There is no signposted circular hiking trail within the municipality of Baudricourt. Viewpoints are located in the valley and on the slopes. Near the village centre and along the Cochon, there are rest areas established by the municipality where walkers can enjoy the historic townscape and the landscape.
