The Château de Lutzelbourg complex occupies approximately 80 ares on a rocky promontory rising to around 320 metres. As a historic monument, the château has been protected since 16 February 1930; it is open year-round.

Culture

The Église Saint-Michel dates from the 18th century and was extended between 1834 and 1869. “Schiweschlawe” is a Lutzelbourg carnival tradition in which burning discs are thrown from the hill towards the valley.

Routes

The Circuit du château is an easy circular trail measuring 3.18 kilometres, with a walking time of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. It starts in Lutzelbourg and is marked with a red ring.

Nature

At the Rocher du Petit Moulin, there is a small recreational area and an unobstructed view. In 2020, a metal staircase was installed there, providing a safe route from the summit to the foot of the rock and back.

On the way

The Sarrebourg–Saverne cycling route stage is 32 kilometres long, takes approximately 2 hours and 9 minutes, and is suitable for beginners. Near Lutzelbourg, the route passes close to the Château de Lutzelbourg, which is situated on a 322-metre-high rocky promontory. Lutzelbourg railway station is 185 metres from this cycling route stage.

Lutzelbourg’s leisure harbour is located on the Marne–Rhine Canal.
