The Musée de la Bière presents the history of brewing and brewing traditions across 2,500 m², from their origins 12,000 years ago to the present day. The tour comprises six sections covering the history of the building, the raw materials required for brewing, and the development of brewing techniques, transport and the licensed trade.

The Church of Saint Gregory was rebuilt in 1833 and houses significant movable cultural heritage classified as Monuments Historiques. The medieval layout of Stenay's streets is also still clearly visible in the narrow streets running along the fortifications, making for a unique tour.

Near Stenay is the historic site of Abbaye de Belval-Bois-des-Dames. The wider surrounding region is also home to the ancient site of Le Chateau, the Château fort castle and the Palais des Princes castle.

Landscape

Near Stenay is the hill of Côte Saint-Germain. The wider surrounding region is home to the springs Grosse Fontaine, Fontaine de Laveux and Source La Noire Fontaine.

The Jardins et voies d'eau walking trail leads through the streets, footbridges and alleyways of Stenay, past gardens and stone walls and through the riverscape shaped by the Meuse, the canal and small streams.

Walking trails

The Rives et collines de Meuse circular trail starts at Stenay marina, runs through the Meuse Valley and along an old Roman road, and offers views of the Meuse as well as the forests of the Meuse and the Ardennes. The trail is an easy 13-kilometre route for hiking or mountain biking.

The Les anciens remparts circular trail leads from the port around Stenay, along preserved traces of the town wall and through the former military citadel with the Musée de la Bière; it then descends to the Meuse via the mill with its waterwheel. The trail is an easy 2.9-kilometre hike with a stated duration of 2 hours.
