Culture and remembrance
The Sainte-Féréole church preserves several historical traces: its 17th- and 18th-century altarpieces were restored in 2001, while the high altar is listed in the French register of historic monuments. According to Victore Forot, the church, probably made of wood, was replaced by a stone building in the 12th century. The Bordeaux–Lyon Roman road also runs through Sainte-Féréole.
The Chemin de mémoire des Saulières is an approximately 4 km-long footpath suitable for the general public. It includes the first four maquis camps established by the Armée Secrète in 1943. Slate plaques provide information about the surroundings of the Maquisards, the political context and the lives of Resistance fighters at four sites occupied by the Maquisards: Le Chat Huant, le Trou du Loup, and the Besse and Treuil farms.
