To the west, the Vézère borders Estivaux and runs through the Vézère gorges there. History and culture can be seen, among other places, at the Church of Saint-Martial, which was first mentioned around 1111. Its oldest parts, including the portal and the chancel end, date from the 12th century. Near the church stands a house with old mullioned windows and a stone staircase that looks like a former château.

The historic surroundings of Estivaux also include the dolmen “la pierre levée”, known as Peyrelevade in Occitan. It was restored and archaeologically examined in 2002.

The GR 46 long-distance hiking trail passes through the centre of Estivaux. The Les vallées hike begins in the village of Estivaux and leads to the Vézère gorges. The route is 11.5 kilometres long and marked in yellow; it is suitable for hiking, horse riding and mountain biking. The En passant par Comborn hiking trail is 14 kilometres long.
Nature and Leisure
The Aire naturelle des Chapelles covers a four-hectare publicly accessible area on the banks of the Vézère, suitable for relaxing, picnicking and resting. Estivaux also has a certified motocross track where licensed riders can train and take part in competitions.
