Culture and history
The Chapelle des Pénitents contains a 17th-century ex-voto in the form of a ladle from a gabare, which was classified as a protected historic object in February 2025. The chapel also features a wooden vault shaped like an inverted boat hull, which was presumably made by the gabiers.

Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is located in the Dordogne Basin, which has been included in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves. The town’s local terroir products include Vin paillé.
Getting around locally
The Circuit du Patrimoine is a 1.2 km route that can be completed at your own pace in 1 to 1.5 hours. It is accompanied by an illustrated guidebook. The Terra Aventura geocaching route “Où la rivière Dordogne rencontre l’Histoire” is 3 km long and accessible with a pushchair.
From May to October, visitors can board the flat-bottomed gabare “Adèle et Clarisse” in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne.
Festivals and local cuisine
The Fête de la Fraise has been held on the second Sunday of May every year since its first edition in 1989. This festival features stalls run by producers and craftspeople, as well as a giant strawberry tart.

The nearest railway station is Bretenoux-Biars, approximately 6 km from Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. From there, the town can be reached by taxi in approximately ten minutes.
