The circular hike Le Rocher des Folles is 9 km long, takes around 3 hours and has an elevation gain of 224 metres. Culture
The Château in Affieux was built in 1636. Its outbuildings and the west façade of the residential building were altered in the 18th century; the year 1781 is displayed on the extensions on the east side. The Château is privately owned.
The Church of Saint-Pardoux has a 17th-century tabernacle altar that is classified as a historic monument. The church was recently restored and has been documented since the 12th century. Its portal is built in the Limousin style and decorated with a frieze of capitals, human masks and an animal.
The Gare d’Affieux railway station has also been restored. It is equipped with tracks, two carriages, an old hydraulic crane and a clock.
Nature
The BGA Parc in the municipality of Affieux covers almost 12 hectares. The Couloir à Papillons is a 3 km circular trail with 14 planting zones. Along the trail, there is a natural stream, a temple and corridors for wildlife. The Couloir à Papillons is open to the public for free visits all year round.
There are picnic tables at the Étang de Linâtre; the site is partly shaded. Fishing is permitted there from 14 March to 20 September.
Other trails
The trail Piste des légendes leads to the Pierre des Druides. It is a granite block at an altitude of 732 metres, with hollows formed by erosion, including small depressions. A shaded hike there offers a view of the Monédières and a spectacular view of this landscape.
