Nature and trails

History and architectural heritage
The Chapelle Saint-Martin is a 13th-century chapel with a 14th-century enclosure. The Chapelle Saint-Martin, including the remains of its enclosure, its fortified gate and the ground within its enclosure, has been listed as a historic monument by decree of 23 August 1994.
The present-day bell tower of Latour-de-France preserves evidence of an earlier watchtower that was connected to the castle and served as a defensive post. The present-day church of Latour-de-France was built in the 17th century to replace an older church that had been destroyed during the Thirty Years' War.
The boundary marker of Latour-de-France commemorates the former border between the kingdoms of France and Aragon; it was erected after the Treaty of Corbeil-Barcelona of 1258 to mark this border. The street layout and the architecture of some houses in Latour-de-France reflect a village built to defend against attacks, with its location on the border being a decisive factor. Until 1659, the year of the Treaty of the Pyrenees, Latour-de-France was the first French municipality beyond Roussillon.
Wine
Domaine des Mathouans has followed organic and biodynamic farming principles since 2009 and uses natural winemaking methods. Domaine Les Arabesques offers tours, wine tastings and sales at the estate by appointment. It has been organically certified since 2017; biodynamic techniques are used in some cases, and almost the entire production process, from the vineyard to bottling, is carried out by hand.
Domaine Tribouley offers tastings and sales at the wine cellar by appointment. It produces wines with the “Côtes du Roussillon Village Latour de France” AOC classification. In Latour-de-France, Domaine Giocanti offers tastings, sales at the estate and tours exclusively by appointment.
