Winter sports
The Nordic area of Font-Romeu has 111 km of groomed and marked cross-country ski trails and routes. The Domaine nordique de Font-Romeu is divided into 22 loops: seven green, ten blue and five red.
The Stade de biathlon de Font-Romeu has a 2.2 km roller-ski track with four loops. The biathlon facilities in Font-Romeu combine cross-country skiing with rifle shooting and are suitable from the age of eight.
The Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 ski area has two beginner areas with five pistes, two toboggan runs and a snowtubing area. There are 24 lifts in total, including a gondola that provides access to the start of the pistes in the Airelles area.
Culture
The Église Saint-Martin d’Odeillo preserves a carved Romanesque portal and an altarpiece depicting the life of Saint Martin. It was probably built in the 9th century in the Romanesque style. From Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via railway station, the church can be reached on foot in less than 20 minutes – approximately 16 minutes or over 1,355 m.
The Four Solaire d’Odeillo is one of the six buildings in Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via that are classified or registered as historic monuments. The Chapelle de l’Ermitage de Font-Romeu is listed in the inventory of historic monuments and houses classified 18th-century furnishings in the Catalan Baroque style.
The Ermitage de Font-Romeu is a pilgrimage site associated with the veneration of Notre-Dame de Font-Romeu; the statue is attributed to the 13th century.
Trails and museum
The Musée sans Murs is free of charge and open year-round. It follows an easy-to-walk path with a gentle incline from the centre of Font-Romeu to the Ermitage and today comprises a 1.2 km route with more than 40 consecutive stations.
