Nature and History
Southeast of Corbère-les-Cabanes lies the Colline de Montou. The hill has several caves, including the Grotte de Montou. From the summit, there is a wide view over the Ribéral and the Roussillon plain.
The Grotte de Montou offers a caving tour of moderate difficulty, including an introduction to rappelling over 12 metres. Remains of deer, bears and ibex were found in a layer dated to between 60,000 and 40,000 years ago. A second archaeological layer consists of a field of burial urns dating to 950 BC.

History and Culture
The documented history of Corbère-les-Cabanes begins around the 17th century. The eastern group of farmsteads called “Les Cabanes” developed into the origin of a new village.
The Romanesque Chapelle Saint-Pierre del Bosc, isolated in the woods in the area surrounding Corbère and Corbère-les-Cabanes, can be reached via an easily accessible path that runs around both villages. The nearby restored Romanesque chapel is a testament to local history.

At Les Vergers des Cabanes, visitors are welcomed in the farm’s greenhouse, where the sales outlet is located. The sales outlet offers organically grown seasonal vegetables. The greenhouse can be freely visited during opening hours for on-site sales.
