Nature
The schist subsoil of Ferrals-les-Montagnes contains trilobites, which are representative of some of the oldest fossils found in France. History and culture
Villa Ferales is mentioned as early as 804 and was located on an old Roman road. The local cultural heritage includes the ruins of a former 16th-century castle. Saint-Pierre Church has a marble holy-water font. A bell tower dated 1806 stands separately from the church. The Col de Serières, reached by the Cit’Art trail, is considered a witness to the Resistance battles.

Le Bois des Gardes is a moderately difficult hiking route in Ferrals-les-Montagnes. It follows the Cesse for 1.5 km to a footbridge and waterfalls. The information board at Roc Suzadou offers a panorama of woodland, heathland, hay meadows, the wine-growing plain, the Corbières, the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean.
In Authèze, a side path leads to the small Saint-Jean-Baptiste Chapel. It can be reached on foot or by hybrid bike and stands in an isolated natural setting next to an adjoining cemetery.
