Rodilhan: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Rodilhan lies on the outskirts of Nîmes in the Costières area. Over the centuries, settlement developed around religious sites such as the Saint Jean de Polvelières priory. The location was historically strategic because of its proximity to the Via Domitia: the road, built from 118 BC onwards, connected Spain and Italy and was important for trade and the Roman armies.

Culture and history
The present-day small chapel of Polvelières is part of the history of the village. It is located on the chemin des Canaux and hidden among cypress trees. The chapel was restored in 1708 and consecrated and blessed in 1871.
Further traces of the past can be found at the Moulin de l’Hôpital archaeological site in Rodilhan. Preventive excavations uncovered flint working, as well as cores, numerous flake remains, scrapers, drills and fireplaces.
Culture in the surrounding area
There are several different cultural and excursion destinations in the surroundings of Rodilhan: Carré d'Art is a museum, as is the Artothèque de Nîmes. The Église Saint-Baudile de Nîmes is a church, and the Jardins de la Fontaine are a garden in the area around Rodilhan.
