Cardet: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The present-day village of Cardet developed on the banks of the Gardon in the 19th century. The main construction phase of the Château de Cardet dates from the 18th century. The Château de Cardet estate has been inhabited by the same family since the 14th century.

The Château de Cardet, its farm and its orangery were placed under heritage protection by a decree dated 14 January 1993. The history of the village also includes the Cardet cooperative winery, built by Louis Pierredon in 1924. In 1930, a cooperative distillery was established as an extension to the Cardet cooperative winery.

In the wider area around Cardet lies the historic site of Notre-Dames des Fonts Saint Bernard et Sainte Claire. The Monastère Notre-Dame de la Paix-Dieu, a monastery, is located near Cardet. Château Montvaillant, a château, and Ancien château de l'Hom, also a château, are likewise situated in the wider surrounding area.
