Things to Do
Amphoralis can be reached by boat or bicycle, as the Canal de Jonction runs close to the site and the complex has been awarded the Accueil Vélo label. The museum site is located above the excavations of a Gallo-Roman pottery workshop that was in operation from the 1st to the 3rd century. An outdoor circular trail leads to reconstructed kilns and a Gallo-Roman dwelling, built based on the remains that were discovered there.
La Balade d'Amont is a 10 km out-and-back route with a duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes. It ends with a guided tasting of wine or organic or locally produced fruit juice, accompanied by spreads.
Events
The Marché des Potiers takes place every year on 14 and 15 August at Place de la République and brings together around 40 selected potters. At the Festival de Cornemuses, the Boudègue, known as Bodega in Occitan, is presented as the region's traditional local bagpipe.
The Festival Eau, Terre et Vin takes place every third weekend in July in Sallèles-d'Aude along the canal and includes tastings of local products.
