In Montolieu, the Musée des Arts & Métiers du Livre presents the history of writing and the craft techniques of the book trade. Each year, it presents two to three temporary exhibitions exploring the connections between art and literature. The offerings also include guided tours, educational workshops, and courses.

The Coopérative-Musée Cérès Franco has been based in Montolieu since 2015 and today comprises more than 1,700 works. Its collection includes Brazilian and European naïve art, Art singulier, artists from the CoBrA movement, and artists of the Nouvelle Figuration.

The Pôle culturel de la manufacture offers cultural events and regular recurring dates related to various festivals. La Manufacture textile de Montolieu presents the industrial history of the village of Montolieu. A large-scale fresco honoring the Retirada is located at La Manufacture de Montolieu.

Nature

East of Montolieu, the Chapelle Saint-Roch stands on a rocky hilltop. A 6 km hike along the path around the hill of the Chapelle Saint-Roch begins at the retirement home car park. A pilgrimage takes place at the Chapelle Saint-Roch for Pâquettes on the Sunday after Easter.

During the summer holidays, Montolieu and the Musée des Arts & Métiers du Livre can be reached from Carcassonne on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays via RTCA bus line D.
