The full stage of the Sentier Cathare from Durban-Corbières to Tuchan is approximately 27 km long, takes around 7 hours and 50 minutes, is difficult and includes 1,075 metres of ascent. The long and difficult section of the Sentier Cathare from Durban-Corbières to Tuchan is divided into the sections Durban-Corbières–Embres-et-Castelmaure and Embres-et-Castelmaure–Tuchan.

The walk to the ruins of the Chapelle Sainte Ruphine is not marked in yellow. On the GR®367, the roads of the old village, mostly intended for pedestrians, lead to the Fort district and the Chapelle Saint Hippolyte.

History and Enjoyment

The remains of the Château de Durban were listed as a historic monument by decree of 28 April 1926. The Château de Durban includes a discovery trail called “Vieux Durban”.

In Durban-Corbières, wines, honey, preserves and jams, as well as olive oil from the Corbières, are recommended for discovery and tasting.

Getting There

From Narbonne, the road connection to Durban-Corbières follows the RD 609 to the turn-off for the Réserve Africaine and then continues via the RD 611.
