Alairac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Église Saint-Germain d’Alairac dates back to the 13th and 14th centuries, has an octagonal bell tower, has been listed as a historic monument since 1948, and was built in the Southern Gothic style. In 2006 and 2007, the church was restored by an artist with the support of local craftsmen.
Alairac was founded around the year 1000 and is a Circulade, a typical Languedoc village laid out in a circle around a fortified castle or church, once intended to protect it from invaders.

Paths and Nature
The GR78, also known as the Chemin du Piémont Pyrénéen, passes through Alairac as part of the Way of St. James. In the town centre, pilgrims on the GR78 along the Way of St. James will find benches, shaded areas, a grocery shop and public toilets. This section is approximately halfway along the route.
The Circuit de la Malepère starts at the car park behind the school in the centre of Alairac. Between Alairac and Lavalette, the circular trail passes through vineyards and the Massif de la Malepère and partly follows the GR78.
The “Du sentier des traces...aux pas des pèlerins” trail leads from Arzens to Alairac through vineyards, cultivated land and woodland, and enables visitors to explore the natural features of the northern Malepère Massif, which is classified as a ZNIEFF.
Culture and Local Life
The Printemps des Notes association organises a music festival every spring over three weekends at the Espace Arts et Rencontres. The Maison des Arts at the foot of the Église Saint-Germain can be visited all year round; visitors can meet the painter Eliab le berger there.
A multiservice shop in the centre of Alairac offers regional products and local wines from the Malepère wine-growing area with AOC designation. The Domaine Hippique Combe de Rouby offers riding lessons for children, teenagers and adults, as well as horseback rides and riding tours.
