Culture and history
The Porte des Gondi is classified as a historic monument and is the last surviving evidence of the château built by Albert de Gondi. An interpretation trail there explains the history of the site.
Albert de Gondi had the present-day Saint-Lubin Church built outside his château to compensate the parishioners after the former parish church became his château chapel. Alfred Sisley painted Saint-Lubin Church in 1873.
The Relais de Postes probably dates from the 17th century and was a post station on the road from Paris to Normandy.
The Couvent des Cordeliers in Noisy-le-Roi was founded in 1599, after the Cordeliers replaced the Minims who had previously been active at the chapel. Its complex included a cloister, a chapel, and extensive garden, vegetable garden, and orchard areas. The community continued to exist through donations and religious services until the French Revolution.
The Centaure is a horse-human sculpture in the middle of the Rond-point des Chênes. It was created by the artist Serge Manceau and inaugurated in September 1989.
The memorial plaque commemorating the Appeal of 18 June 1940 was unveiled at the corner of Rue Le Bourblanc and Avenue De Gaulle.
Paths and orientation
The Sentier des Gondi is a 10.5-kilometre hiking trail with an estimated duration of three hours and leads to the remains of the Gondi château in Noisy-le-Roi.
Built in 1875, the Batterie de Noisy-le-Roi was part of the eleven defensive structures known as the Positions de la Forêt de Marly. Its now-filled-in moats have been converted into a footpath.
There is an orientation table on the Sisley Terrace near the Porte de Gally. It helps visitors locate nearby historic sites and buildings classified or registered as heritage sites.
Route 5 from Noisy-le-Roi or Bailly to Versailles is 7.3 kilometres long and begins at Stade Sibano in Noisy-le-Roi.
The Roseraie features various tree species and flower beds. The part of the park south of the château, which includes the Parc de la Roseraie, was developed as a public space in 1984.
