Seraincourt: Holiday Apartments and Houses
Three waterways have shaped Seraincourt by carving valleys into the limestone plateau of the Vexin français. The Bernon flows down from the slopes of Montalet-le-Bois and joins the Montcient in the centre of Seraincourt. The Ru de l’Eau Brillante meanders from the hamlet of Rueil to the town centre, separating it from the extensive meadows and pastures on the valley floor. The Montcient runs for 13 kilometres.
Those who choose Seraincourt as a holiday destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
Culture and History
The Église Saint-Sulpice has been classified as a historic monument since 7 January 1930. Among its oldest parts are the barrel-vaulted choir and the base of the bell tower; they date from approximately 1110 to 1125 and feature archaic Romanesque capitals.
Seraincourt Town Hall is a rebuilt pavilion with a wooden pointed gable, which originally represented Brittany at the 1937 Paris Exhibition. The restored washhouse in Rueil was built as an atrium in 1874; its zinc roof with an impluvium channels rainwater directly into the basins.
After crossing the millstream, the Sentier du patrimoine passes the Blanc-Moulin. It also leads to a cascade du Vieux-Moulin, located 50 metres away in a lane branching off to the right.
Leisure
Golf de Seraincourt has an 18-hole course with a par of 71 and a length of 5,847 metres, designed in 1964 by the Scottish architect Fred Hawtree. The course is hilly and varied, offering a challenge to players of different skill levels.
