Casamaccioli is home to the Église de Casamaccioli. The church houses a legendary statue of the Virgin Mary known as Santa di u Niolu. This statue has been venerated in the heart of Corsica for centuries. At the same time, the Église de Casamaccioli is designated as a monument or cultural site.
To celebrate Santa di u Niolu, the Niolu Fair includes a traditional mass and traditional singing. It also features a pastoral and commercial fair.
The Chiarajoli agricultural complex has enclosures that were used for goats and sheep. It includes several cheese cellars, one of which was built above a rock cave.
For some travelers, planning a trip includes the desire to rent a holiday apartment in Casamaccioli.
Getting Around and the Outdoors
The Église de Casamaccioli can be reached by car from the east via the Scala di Santa Regina and from the west via the Col de Vergio (Bocca di Verghju). The Vaccaghja shepherd's hut is located in Camputile along the GR20.
The mountain Capu di a Candela, the summit Capu di a Borba, and the mountain Capu di u Facciatu are located in the vicinity of Casamaccioli. The Cascade de Radule waterfall is also located in the surroundings of Casamaccioli.
The Musée de la Corse is located in the vicinity of Casamaccioli. Also nearby are the Église de Santa Mariona, a church ruin; the Église et Baptistère de San Giovanni, a historic site; and San Michele, a church.
