Sermizelles: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

Built in 1859, the Tour Malakoff towers over the Cure Valley in a remarkable natural landscape. Another defining site is the Chapelle Notre-Dame d'Orient, built in 1958 according to plans by architect Marc Hénard.

The exterior door of the Chapelle Notre-Dame d'Orient is decorated with a frieze depicting the apostles. The windows feature stained glass with abstract motifs. In 2013, the chapel as a whole was protected as a historic monument.

Notre Dame d'Orient dite La Flamme is protected as movable cultural heritage and was classified as such. In the past, a procession followed the unpaved path to the Chapelle Notre-Dame d'Orient.

Landscape

The river also has its own distinctive character: the Canoë-Cure activity uses a calm section of the Cure River.

Water

Canoë-Cure offers canoe and kayak trips starting from Sermizelles; a 14-kilometre route is specified for Sermizelles.

Local Area

The Château de Sermizelles accommodation complex is located on the banks of the Cure River. The accommodation complex includes a 1.5-hectare park.

Geographical Location

In the wider regional area, Sermizelles-Vézelay railway station is mentioned as a stop for travelling to Vézelay with a connecting shuttle; the shuttle runs twice a day.
